幼い頃、年に一度ほど連れて行ってもらっていた「東京ディズニーランド」は、２０１３年に開園３０周年を迎えた。そして同時に、私の両親が結婚して３０周年を迎えた。つまり、私の家族の歩みはディズニーランドと共にあったとも言えると思った。
 
今でも多くの人で賑わうディズニーランドだが、アートの表現の文脈においては「マクドナルド」とやや近似した、アメリカの文化帝国主義的な象徴として露悪的に扱われることも多いと感じていた。
私はディズニーランドのそうした側面を認めながらも、同時に個人的な家族の思い出が染み付いた場所としてディズニーランドを見てしまうことは避けられなかった。私はそうしたどうにもならない視線を通しながら、現代の社会の問題を見つめ直したいと思った。
 
かつてのホームビデオと、今一度一人きりで訪れて撮影した映像が、交錯して彷徨う。
 
 

When I was a child, we would go to Tokyo Disneyland about once a year. In 2013, it celebrated its 30th anniversary.
At the same time, it was also the 30th anniversary of my parents' marriage.
In that sense, I felt that my family’s journey had unfolded alongside Disneyland.
 
Even today, Disneyland remains a place bustling with people, but in the context of artistic expression, I often sensed that, much like McDonald’s, it is treated critically—as a symbol of cultural imperialism.
 
While I acknowledge that aspect of Disneyland, for me,  I couldn't help but see it as a place efilled with my own family memories.
Through that inescapable lens, I wanted to reconsider the problems of contemporary society.
 
Footage from old home videos and new images I filmed alone during a return visit now cross paths, drifting together.
